Columbus Indiana Wedding Photographer | Thankful

Today, I am feeling incredibly thankful.

Being newly married, working a day job, and building a photography business while making time for God, our family, friends, and church family leaves my head spinning some days on how to manage it all. Some days I'm not sure I will ever get better at it. It seems like something is always suffering because my focus is on one of the other many things I have to do which honestly makes me feel like a big failure most of the time. Some weeks its not spending time with friends or family, other times it's not getting enough one-on-one time with Kyle or not reading my Bible. The last few weeks it has been neglecting house work. Last week I had started spending a few minutes here and there on cleaning and laundry but I felt so overwhelmed that I would not get caught up! Kyle helps around the house too and has lately been cooking our meals, but his job is very active so sometimes when we get home from work he just needs to rest.

Well one of my dear cousins schemed up a little plan and when we came home yesterday from work and turning in our taxes (another big stressor!) the house was clean and scrubbed and swept and all of the dishes were done! I was ecstatic and Kyle was simply shocked. Last night I kept going into the kitchen and doing a little happy dance. I even decided to do my editing in there. I'm so thankful to my cousin for taking time out of her busy day and driving over with her girls to do this wonderful act of kindness for us!

Hopefully one of these days I will be able to manage my time and responsibilities better than I do now. I am working towards implementing some new systems so we will see how that goes. I'm thankful that each day is another day to try again and do better and be better!

Columbus, Indiana Wedding Photographer

Happy Monday evening everyone! I am so excited that we are starting to have warmer weather these last few days. On Friday, Kyle and I went to a nearby park to play tennis and afterwards we grabbed some ice cream. It had been a very long time since I have played tennis and it definitely showed. Kyle, however, is good! I really love that we were able to get outside and spend time together being active. It makes me look forward to our first spring and summer as a married couple!

Saturday, I met up with the amazing group of girls that will be in Brittany's wedding and went to lunch and bridesmaid dress shopping and then to dinner later that night. It was a much needed break from the routine of everyday life and I loved being able to catch up with everyone. However, we definitely stayed up way too late and I am feeling incredibly tired. But it was worth it.

After I got back today I went to my cousins house for lunch with her family and Kyle. Kyle is going to be playing guitar for their church's kids choir in a couple weeks and went to church with them on Sunday to practice. It was such a nice and refreshing day!

Kyle and I are still trying to get back to normal after the time change. We didn't have Daylight Saving Time here in Indiana while I was growing up and I wonder if I will ever get used to it.

I hope that you all had a lovely weekend and are ready to take on the week!

Columbus Indiana Wedding Photographer - Inspiration

I hope that everyone has been having a wonderful week! I am currently working on some new changes around the business that I am so excited to tell everyone about once they get up and running!

I thought I would include a couple inspiration links and blogs that I love so much! So if you have a few spare minutes, grab a cup of tea or coffee and enjoy!

Roost
This is a blog that I just recently found and it is full of kinds of recipes from seasonal foods that promote a clean eating lifestyle. I am so excited to try some of these! Caitlin also has posts about her amazingly decorated house (I love her style!) and just life in general.

And the photography is beautiful!

I've been following this blog for a while and I absolutely love it! Amanda is quirky and wonderful. There are all kinds of DIY projects, beautiful interior design, and again amazing photography! She also sells greeting cards that are all kinds of creative.

I hope your weekend is filled with joy and lots of love! I will be going wedding shopping with some of my dear housemates from college in preparation for my roomate's wedding this September! I saw them at my wedding but the last time we were really able to hang out has been over a year ago - far too long! Needless to say I am so excited!

Columbus Documentary Photographer - The Hunters

A few weeks ago Kyle and I were asked to document a memorial service for my friends, on the loss of their sweet baby girl who was taken before being born into this world.

We were so honored to be part of such an intimate moment. They did a sky lantern release surrounded by their family at one of the parks in Columbus. Even though it was incredibly cold and windy that day, they were able to get the lanterns lit and we watched as floated higher and higher towards the pale gray skies.

Favorite! This is great love even in the hardest of circumstances.

Praying for you guys!

I can hardly believe March is already upon us! Where does the time go? I hope that everyone has had a wonderful weekend and ready with a fresh start to this week and month!  I spend much of the weekend editing pictures while watching Downton Abbey with Kyle. We are all caught up now and I can't wait for the next season!

I have lots of pictures that need to be blogged so hopefully in the next few days I can get them all up!

Several weeks ago, my friend Ainsley and I went out for a fun photoshoot. I'm really happy how these pictures turned out!

Ainsley is gorgeous!

New Year

It's already halfway through January, and Kyle and I still feel like we are trying to catch up from the holidays.

Here's what we have been up to lately (Please excuse my iphone photos):

We put up our first (real) tree together with help from my parents.
